Font licensing

1. License grant and term

Awal Studio grants the named licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual right to use the purchased font styles only within the selected license type and scope. A purchase transfers no ownership of the font software or its design.

Webfont limits use the combined monthly pageviews across all websites owned or controlled by the licensee. App limits use the combined monthly active users during the previous 30 days, or combined downloads, across all licensed apps. The selected limit is recorded on the order.

2. Licensee, devices, and contractors

The license belongs to the person or organization named at purchase. Each Corporate license covers one legal entity; licenses for multiple entities may be purchased together. Desktop coverage is limited to the number of users shown on the order. Contractors, printers, and production vendors may temporarily access the font only to complete work for the licensee. They must keep it private, use it only for that work, and delete it when the work ends. The licensee remains responsible for their use.

3. Clients and editable files

A designer or agency may deliver flattened, rasterized, or outlined finished work to a client. A client who installs the font, embeds it, receives the font files, or edits source files that depend on it needs the appropriate license in the client's own name. Do not package the font with an editable template without written permission.

4. Storage and protection

You may keep reasonable backups and use private storage accessible only to authorized people working within the purchased scope. Webfont, Publishing, and App & Platform files must be reasonably protected from extraction. Public repositories, public font services, and unrestricted download links are prohibited.

5. Prohibited uses

• Reselling, sublicensing, sharing, or redistributing the font files.
• Using the font under a different license type or beyond its stated scope without purchasing additional coverage.
• Modifying, converting, renaming, reverse engineering, or creating derivative font software without written permission.
• Using font files, outlines, glyph data, metadata, character sets, or rendered samples for AI or machine-learning datasets, training, fine-tuning, evaluation, typeface generation, or reconstruction without written permission.

Ordinary finished design work made with AI-assisted tools is allowed when the font and its underlying data are not supplied to or retained by the AI system.

6. Education discount

Active students and educators receive 50% off the Desktop license for their own personal educational work. Client, company, agency, and institutional work is excluded. The coupon and license may not be shared.

7. Ownership, termination, and refunds

Awal Studio retains all copyright and intellectual property rights. The font is provided as is, without express or implied warranty. A correctable breach has a 30-day remedy period; intentional resale, sublicensing, or public distribution may cause immediate termination. After termination, stop future use and delete all font copies. Lawfully created, non-editable finished work does not need to be recalled unless required by law. Digital font purchases are non-refundable after download except where required by law or stated in our Terms & Conditions.

Where permitted by applicable law, unauthorized commercial use, intentional redistribution, or use outside the purchased license type or scope may result in contractual damages of up to US$10,000 per violation. This is a contractual maximum, not an automatic statutory fine; the amount and any other remedy remain subject to applicable law and determination by a competent court or tribunal.
