Awal Studio is an independent type foundry and design studio in Jakarta, Indonesia.
We create original typefaces and typography-led identities, with particular attention to Arabic and the writing systems of Southeast Asia.
Our work begins with language, reading, and context. We draw from historical and regional forms, then build them into clear contemporary systems for print and digital use.
