Font License Agreement
This agreement covers retail fonts, font downloads, webfonts, trial fonts, and font licenses purchased from Awal Studio. Project services are covered separately by our Terms of Service.

Quick Guide
Design work
Choose Desktop for logos, branding, print, static social posts, presentations, and design files.
Websites
Choose Webfont when the font is loaded with CSS, @font-face, or any website embedding method.
Apps and products
Choose App, Server, eBook, Video, or Digital Ads when the font is embedded or distributed in that medium.
Broad usage
Choose Unlimited when one client needs broad usage across media. Resale or redistribution of font files is still not allowed.
License Holder
Each license belongs to the named licensee, company, or client on the order, invoice, or written license confirmation. The license is not shared across unrelated companies, clients, or projects.
For final client work, the license must be issued in the final client's name. Designers, agencies, contractors, and freelancers may use the font on behalf of that client during the project, but they may not keep using or reusing the font for other clients unless they hold their own license.

Desktop License
For designers, teams, offices, and studios creating static design work.
Allowed Uses
- Logo design and branding

Device Tiers
- 1 device
- 5 devices
- 25 devices
- 100 devices
- Custom for larger device counts
Not Allowed
- Web embedding with @font-face
- App, server, or product embedding
- Sharing installable font files with another client or company
Webfont License
For websites that load the font through CSS, @font-face, hosted files, or a similar web embedding method.
Allowed Uses
- @font-face embedding
- CSS usage on websites
- One licensed website or domain group per license
Starter Tier
- Starter includes up to 10,000 monthly pageviews
- Higher traffic requires an upgraded or custom webfont tier
Not Allowed
- Desktop installation
- App or server embedding
- Making font files downloadable by site visitors
App License
For mobile, desktop, or embedded applications where the font is bundled with the app.
Allowed Uses
- Embed in one mobile app
- Embed in one desktop app
- Use inside the licensed application UI
Limits
- 1 application per license unless agreed otherwise
Not Allowed
- Webfont use
- Extractable font distribution
- Use in a different app without another license
Digital Ads License
For campaign assets, banners, and paid media placements.
Allowed Uses
- Digital banners
- Online advertisements
- Social media ads
Limits
- Up to 250,000 total impressions unless a higher tier is purchased
Not Allowed
- Broadcast use
- Webfont or app embedding
Video and Broadcasting License
For creators, filmmakers, broadcasters, and motion graphics work.
Allowed Uses
- YouTube, social video, and streaming content
- Television and broadcast graphics
- Film, title cards, and motion graphics
Limits
- No view limit for the finished video item
Not Allowed
- App embedding
- Webfont embedding
- Sharing editable font files with viewers or distributors
eBook License
For digital publications where the font is embedded in a publication file.
Allowed Uses
- eBooks
- Interactive PDFs
- Digital magazines
Limits
- Up to 3 publications unless agreed otherwise
Not Allowed
- Desktop installation by readers
- App use outside the publication
Server License
For organizations providing controlled font access through internal systems.
Allowed Uses
- Network-wide font access
- Internal provisioning for licensed users
- Internal production systems
Limits
- 1 organization unless a custom license says otherwise
Not Allowed
- Public-facing font services
- Redistribution or font generation services for third parties
Unlimited License
For a named licensee that needs broad rights across media and usage volumes.
Allowed Uses
- Desktop, webfont, app, ads, video, eBook, and server usage
- High-volume usage by the named licensee
- Use across the licensee's own brands and properties
Limits
- No usage volume limit for the named licensee
Still Not Allowed
- Resale of font files
- Redistribution, sublicensing, or giving away font files
- Using the license for unrelated clients or companies
Trial License
For evaluation, testing, mockups, and internal previews before purchasing a full license.
Allowed Uses
- Personal evaluation and testing
- Internal mockups and design previews
- Student or academic exploration
- Compatibility checking with your workflow
Limitations
- Limited character set — trial fonts do not include the full glyph set
- No commercial use — cannot be used in paid or client work
- No redistribution — do not share trial files with others
- No final deliverables — trial fonts may not appear in published or shipped work
Not Allowed
- Client presentations or pitch decks
- Social media posts or public portfolios
- Embedding in apps, websites, or products
- Modifying or converting trial font files
Refunds
Font purchases are digital products. Once a font file has been downloaded, the purchase is non-refundable.
We may refund or correct an order when there is a duplicate purchase, double payment, wrong file, corrupted file, or a file delivery issue that we cannot fix. Contact us with your order details so we can review it.
Definitions
- User means one person who installs or uses the font files.
- Licensee means the named person, company, or client that owns the license.
- Domain means one website property, including normal subpages and subdomains used for the same property.
- Monthly pageviews means the total pages loaded in one calendar month where the licensed webfont is served or used.
- Application means one mobile, desktop, embedded, or software product.
- Publication means one eBook, digital magazine, interactive PDF, or similar digital publishing item.
- Redistribution means sharing, selling, sublicensing, uploading, giving away, or making font files available to another party.
- Contractor means a freelancer, agency, employee, or vendor using the font only on behalf of the licensee.
General Terms
- All licenses are perpetual (one-time purchase) and non-exclusive.
- Licenses are issued to the named licensee and are non-transferable without prior written permission from Awal Studio.
- Font files may not be resold, redistributed, sublicensed, uploaded, shared, or given away to third parties.
- Modification of font files, including renaming, converting, editing outlines, decompiling, or reverse engineering, is not permitted unless Awal Studio gives written permission.
- Contractors may use fonts on the licensee's behalf during the project, but may not keep copies or reuse the fonts after the engagement ends.
- If your usage exceeds the tier you purchased, you must upgrade or buy an additional license before continued use.
- Trial fonts may be used only for testing, mockups, evaluation, and internal previews. Trial fonts may not be used in final, published, commercial, or client-delivered work.
- Awal Studio reserves the right to audit compliance with reasonable notice.
- This agreement is governed by the laws of Indonesia.
